Getting ffmpeg to work...

Postby Andreas » Sun Oct 09, 2011 2:45 pm

I've got apache tomcat 5,5, running the latest version of subsonic...

Music transcoding with lame works fine... But I can't get video playback to work, I only get this message:

"[10/9/11 4:39:15 PM CEST] DEBUG TranscodeInputStream Starting transcoder: [c:\subsonic\transcode\ffmpeg] [-ss] [0] [-i] [E:\SD Film\Alien Raiders\Alien.Raiders[2008]DvDrip-aXXo.avi] [-async] [1] [-b] [1000k] [-s] [480x360] [-ar] [44100] [-ac] [2] [-v] [0] [-f] [flv] [-]
[10/9/11 4:39:15 PM CEST] WARN TranscodingService Failed to transcode E:\SD Film\Alien Raiders\Alien.Raiders[2008]DvDrip-aXXo.avi. Using original."

No matter what type of video I try..

Am I using the wrong version of FFmpeg ?

I've tried both 0.7.6 and 0.8.5 without sucess..

Music transcoding with lame works fine..

Are you converting or just re-sampling?
If you are converting you will be using ffmpeg - try to play a non mp3 audio file eg flac or ogg.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, Image but some abuse the privilege!

Due to the confusion from too many genres of music, we have decided to put both country music and rap music into the genre of Crap music.

My misstake transcoding .flac to .mp3 doesnt work either.

What am I doing wrong ??

I copied the ffmpeg-0.6.3.tar file to c:\subsonic\transcode

Do I need to change the default transcoding settings for this to work ?

Hm... I just thought of something, Boy am I probably stupid.
