Subsonic will not update my music library

Postby ashmadai » Thu Oct 27, 2011 12:26 am

Hello subsonic community,

I have searched these forums for a while, and looked at posts to help with this issue but i have been unable to resolve it. Subsonic has been unable to update my library for 3 months, I have the setting to update the search string set to automatic each day at 3am. I have tried to manually run it on various browsers (opera, Firefox, IE). Still nothing seems to update my music library. Browsing the library is fine however on my iphone, xperia play, other pc's local and afar. the server is port forwarded correctly. This is Win 7 ultimate. Thats about all the info i can think of needing. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Shane

This might be a stupid suggestion, but just double check and make sure you don't have two instances of Subsonic running in the background.

I have Subsonic running on my FreeNAS and I accidentally started up a second instance. Since the first instance was still running and had a hold on the database (by .lck file) any changes I made could not be saved.

I killed both instances and fired Subsonic back up and everything was fine.

If this is not the case and you have verified there is only one instance of Subsonic running, it might be a problem with the .lck file keeping your databases tied up.

Shut down Subsonic and check the db folder for a .lck file. Once Subsonic is shut down delete this file, then reopen Subsonic.

Try updating your search index manually in Settings->Search Update search index now.

Hope this helps!
