I followed the instructions online, as well as referencing some other websites for getting subsonic installed in a Hyper-V Ubuntu machine on my home file server. I configured my router for sending 4040 traffic to my vm (192.168.0.137). All things were good, so I downloaded and installed the android app. Good still. The problem occured when I tried to add my server. See below for results:
http://67.148.xx.xxx - Doesn't work (my ISP IP)
http://evanrich-dyndns-xxxx.com - Doesn't work (my DDNS hostname)
http://modelxxxxxxxx.com - Doesn't work (my website, which I host on the same file server)
http://evanrich81.subsonic.org - Works
When I ping the subsonic hostname, I get a different IP address than what I get pinging or using my regular IP. I've even tried turning off the firewall in my 2008 r2 system, the SPI firewall in my router, and putting the vm's IP in the DMZ. Nothing works.
Why can i connect via the subsonic address but not my other ones? as a side note, I tried opening the url in my browser for the other 3 (on my phone) and they load correctly (http://IP_ADDRESS:4040) so what gives? The subsonic address expires december 14th so I'd like to try and get this pointed to my system for good.
Req Info:
Subsonic Version: 4.6 beta1
Platform: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS x64
Client: Android 3.x subsonic client
Hardware platform: AMD x3 455 server running win2008r2 with Hyper-V (ubuntu VM)
Update: Fixed, despite the guide i had found, I had to include :4040 in the android server url. hurrdurr Thanks
