Disable lyrics URL view in side panel?

Is there a way to delete/disable the lyrics URL showing up by modding the right.jps or lyrics.jsp file? I can see the reference there but not sure how to do it without messing up the general functionality of the rest of the panel.
Or the other option would be to somehow disable the checkbox 'Show what others are playing' for all LDAP users. I'm not sure if that is possible on a global scale though with the admin settings.

I don't know if you fixed this yet, but you can delete the lyrics function easily by deleting the link in the right.jsp file. I don't have a file that I can copy and paste from that hasn't been modded yet, but don't worry about messing things up. the right.jsp won't mess up any functionality because it is just receiving and displaying information provided to it, not providing vital information to anything else.
