Port numbers in use?

Postby gurutech » Fri Jan 20, 2012 4:21 am

Can someone post what port numbers are normally in use when SubSonic is running?

I ran a trace on my web server (also running subsonic), and I am getting a lot of hits on port 57512, but in and out of my server. They are all UDP traffic, so no actual connection is being made. I ran a ping on the "other" IP address, but no response. From the "other" IP, the source port will vary, but the destination port (on my end) is always 57512.

Is this something I should be worrying about?

What port no. have you told SS to use? :?
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, Image but some abuse the privilege!

Due to the confusion from too many genres of music, we have decided to put both country music and rap music into the genre of Crap music.

Just the default 4040. Not sure if there are any other ones...

I do have "Transmission" running, but not currently downloading anything, or have anything available to upload. I guess it would make sense that I'm on some sort of "list" even if I don't have anything hosted on my machine to download...

Many torrent clients update trackers and do other things using very high port numbers to facilitate the torrent system. If you want to prevent this behavior, it can probably be specified in the client's settings.
