How to install on a hosted website

Postby tubby1000 » Tue Mar 20, 2012 6:47 pm

I need to know how to install Subsonic onto a hosted website like,hostgator,1&1 and so on. Are there any php files? I have Subsonic on my home computer but would like to have it on one of my paid hosts to have it there. My host meets all requirments for Subsonic, I just need to know how to install it to the host, i dont need to buy another hosting plan with Subsonic preinstalled. Thank you.

I believe that you need root access on the site which usually requires a VPS account. The more common shared hosting plans may not allow doing that.

Subsonic is a java application. So assuming that your hosting provider can provide a java servlet (or you can install your own, like tomcat) it is as simple as deploying the WAR file in that servlet.
