Cant view from browser, but ok with isub and iphone safari

Something very strange happened last week. i have been running subsonic on a windows 7 machine for over a year without issue. Recently I tried to launch from my laptop at home and it did not work unless I accessed it via my internal network IP. So i figured it was my router or ISP. I did a port check outside my home and 8080 is open. And even stranger is that if I try to access my URL via my iphone safari browser or isub everything works fine. Stumped...

When you access SS from within your own lan using your yourname.subsonic.org address your modem should resolve that to your local I.P.:port no.
Check in the browser address bar that it is going to the right address and port.
eg 192.168.0.xxx:port_no
