Stream video on Android Device

Since flash is no longer supported and I have mp4 and mkv files i would like to stream via subsonic app for android, what should i set the corresponding transcoding or other settings to so that I am able to either choose a native android video player or 3rd party application on my android device to play the videos....

I have several android devices, most on ICS and yes a couple on Jelly Bean already!

Anxiously awaiting some good tips!!
