im not sure when this started if it was when i upgraded to the most recent 4.7.beta2 (build 3012) – June 9, 2012 or because there were a few hardware changes that i did in the past month due to hard drives dieing/replacement.
now my music folder will not scan into the database. i have 5 other folders with videos that continue to scan in ok. i have removed the music folder and re-added it. i have changed its name (in subsonic, not the folder path in windows, on server2008). and still no music is being found. this includes my podcasts. i can go to the podcasts settings page, and add new ones, and my old ones still download to the correct directory (in music folder) but when i click on the podcasts shortcut on the left pane it says nothing is in it. i can go to podcast link on the menu on the top, and see all my podcasts and play them.
This is very frustrating as it was all working perfectly until the last week or two. i cannot access any music or podcasts through my phone because they are not displaying in subsonic correctly.
Is there a way to delete the subsonic database without losing my settings and my users?
any help would be much appriciated

There is a problem with scanning in media in the current beta which does effect some users (me included)
I would suggest going back to the 4.6 stable release and await the next beta.

i saved my database then cleared out everything and reinstalled, which setup a new database. i am now able to scan stuff in. i guess i can roll back to 4.6, or the earlier beta that was working ok i think.
is there an easy way to get just my settings imported into the new install, such as welcome messages, user permissions and stuff.

All the user settings etc are stored in the db\subsonic.script file.
So back that up before upgrading.
A normal upgrade (rather then an un-install /install) should preserve all the data
