Subsonic won't start in Windows XP SP3 Spanish

Postby elbarto1977 » Wed Mar 04, 2009 8:37 pm

I've installed and uninstalled now several times Subsonic 3.6, but it seems there's something wrong with my system. I'm running Windows XP SP3 Spanish and using the windows installer. It installs fine, but when the tray icon starts, I open the control panel, and try clicking start to get the service running... and nothing happens. Trying to start the service under Windows Management results in an "Error 1067". I've noticed that every time I try starting the service from the tray icon, a new folder with a name like "_dir17005" (numbers in the folder name will increase in every such attempt) gets created under subsonic's main installation folder with the file "exe4jlib.jar" inside. This led me to believe I have some sort of Java problem, since jar's are executable java files... so I uninstalled and reinstalled Java runtime environment, with no luck.
What puzzles me is that I've tried in an English Windows XP, and Subsonic works like a charm... i don't know if the language is the problem here or what.
I've also noticed that on the working system there are many more files in the "C:\subsonic" folder than in the one that won't start... I only have the "transcode" folder in "C:\subsonic" in the non working system.
I'm posting below what's in the subsonic-agent.log

156 [main] INFO org.springframework.context.support.ClassPathXmlApplicationContext - Refreshing org.springframework.context.support.ClassPathXmlApplicationContext@1050e1f: display name [org.springframework.context.support.ClassPathXmlApplicationContext@1050e1f]; startup date [Wed Mar 04 18:19:26 GST 2009]; root of context hierarchy
422 [main] INFO org.springframework.beans.factory.xml.XmlBeanDefinitionReader - Loading XML bean definitions from class path resource [applicationContext-agent.xml]
1625 [main] INFO org.springframework.context.support.ClassPathXmlApplicationContext - Bean factory for application context [org.springframework.context.support.ClassPathXmlApplicationContext@1050e1f]: org.springframework.beans.factory.support.DefaultListableBeanFactory@129f3b5

Any ideas will really be appreciated. This product seems to be the answer to all my prayers, but I'm stuck here and can't use it. Darn
