Network Shares in Subsonic OS X?

Postby ranova » Mon Jul 30, 2012 2:33 am

I recently bought a Mac mini as my primary media center for the living room (Core i5 2.3ghz) but I want to use it as the transcoding server for Subsonic since my current subsonic server is a c2d 3ghz and my main desktop I use in my office (but has all the media files on it). (In other words, I want the Mac mini to use it's CPU to do all the transcoding, over the network).

I was doing some searching and there are only tutorials for Windows:

All these guides say that the Subsonic executable needs to do a network login to access shares over the network, is there a similar way to do this on OS X?

Anyone have any idea on this? When my desktop transcode a video, it really bogs it down.
