Subsonic on ubuntu 12.04 can't find modem

Postby hbake1990 » Sat Aug 04, 2012 10:28 pm

Hey I am new to ubuntu I was using subsonic on windows 7 with the android app for ages, but since I have moved to ubuntu I can not seam to get it to work I get the media folder working put in my user and all the rest of it that you do when setting up but when I get to connecting to network it fails, under the router config section I get no router found and with the address I get XXXXXX.subsonic.org is registered but could not connect to it (ConnectTimeoutException), I have not had any problems like this before I have tried changing the ports under /ect/default/subsonic to something over 1024 as that was suggested on the site I found the ubuntu instructions on and added the ports to the services on my modem but it is still not working.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Does the connection work in your local network? Does internet work from your ubuntubox?
Perhaps the port you set for incoming connections is closed on the ubuntubox itself.
Try to look into your firewall-settings (in a terminal enter iptables -L -v -n) and look there if your port is opened.
Are you using a Router or a Modem and what "Router config section"?
