Getting Subsonic to see LAME in Ubuntu/Linux Mint

Postby SlowBurn » Wed Mar 04, 2009 4:58 am

I'm just dipping my toes into the Linux waters since my original Windows Subsonic server died, and I've gotten most everything to work. I'd like to set up the transcoding to keep bitrates constant, but I'm not certain how to get Subsonic to see LAME.

I can tell LAME is installed by looking in Synaptic, and I've tried creating links in the "transcode" folder to both usr/bin/lame and the library, but no luck.

Any advice for a Linux newb? Thanks!

copy lame into the folder ./subsonic/transcode rather than a link.

Also make sure that the user permissions are set correctly for lame.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks!

UPDATE: Well, that was too easy. Thanks!
