Unresponsive Phone After Unlocked Screen

What can I do to troubleshoot this:

Turn on Subsonic via my Android phone,
offline or online,
downloading or unconnected
If I let my phone lock whilewhile a song plays
and then I go to unlock it, she "freezes" just as I finish unlocking it... until the song ends.

In other words, I am stuck on the lock screen until the song finishes. If subsonic is paused before the screen locks everything is A-OK.

Any help would be appreciated.

The Android app can be a little picky depending on the phone, the version of Android, the rom you have on the phone if it's rooted, and which apk you use. There are a few different apps available on the forums and they all have strenghts and weaknesses depening on the factors I just sited. I haven't tested Jelly Bean yet, but I've seen reports that Subsonic has issues with JB.

You need to provide more specific details about you phone if you're going to find someone who may have solved similar issues on that particular model.

Figured that much. Thanks. I'll shoot over to xda and try them out too but in the meantime here's the specs should anyone find out more:

Motorola Defy MB525
Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean
CyanogenMod 10

This happens with the latest update (Oct18th) and the one before that. I haven't tried any other versions.
It also seems to happen with Pandora.
