Search Index Broken

Postby inslee » Mon Apr 20, 2009 3:47 pm

For the past couple days when I log into Subsonic, I was getting the message in the main browsing pane that the music folder was currently being indexed and that I had to wait (for the past 48 hrs)

I restarted the subsonic server process on the server its running on and then I got the following log message:

Code: Select all
ERROR   SearchService   An error occurred while reading index entry 'F ixYxi 1232769289318 ixY'.

I feel like this is where its hanging and is the reason behind the perpetual "folder being indexed...etc." My question is how do I rebuild the search index? (going into the control panel and clicking on "Update Search index" isnt working)

I tried deleting all the files in the db folder and that didnt help so I ended up uninstalling Subsonic, deleting the main subsonic folder, and then re-installing.

So far so good.

Ok, that's good.

Just a little remark: the subsonic9.index is not in the db folder.

I was having the exact same problem. I found the issue to be .wma files that were recently uploaded. Another symptom was that it would cause the processor to hit 100% from the java process.

I moved the .wma files out of my music directory, restarted my machine and everything started working again. I was able to initiate a search, and it completed successfully.

Hope that helps.
