Hi all,
Been looking around on this and can't find any info.
I have set up subsonic on the pi and its working find apart from video transcoding. The pi is a little to slow for smooth playback. It stutters rather than freezes through the flash player so I was hoping to improve this by changing the codec to something easier for the pi to Handel. Mpeg4 has been suggested as using a lot less CPU for quality and file size that is not far of H264.
Does any on know how to set the transcode for the flash player to use mp4 formate with mpeg4 video, using ffmpeg? When ever I try it I get a video not found message. I am correct in thinking subsonic can stream mp4 native with out transcoding to flv?
The other option would be to convert all the video library to mp4 and disable the transcode feature. If I was to transcode upfront my library what is a good formate to use that is widely accepted by mobile devices and PC's.
I would prefer to sacrifice some quality and enable encoding by using a less CPU intensive codec than recode the whole library.
Cheers
