Controlling which players display in drop-down list

First, this is not an iSub question. I've rigged up a way to use iSub as a controller for a Roku Soundbridge (the audio-only version) that goes iSub jukebox mode > Subsonic > Roku. However, I would like the player to also show up in the Subsonic web interface so that I can add songs to the queue from my desktop computer.

My question is, what controls whether a player displays in the drop-down select list? Certain players such as iSub, iSubjukebox, etc. don't display and I can't figure out what triggers this. I've gone into the database via db.view and don't see anything that makes these players unique except that they have a client_id where other players don't. I tried setting client_id to nothing, but the player still doesn't display as an option in Subsonic.
