Playlist issues

I seem to be having the same playlist issues others have written about. However I was not able to find a solution that works for me.

So here goes. I can only import files with the m3u8 format. M3u fail to find songs. So I can import the playlist, and a various times, the playlist will indicate the number of songs in the playlist. However when I click on the playlist there are no song in the viewer. Then I will get the (0) for songs in the playlist. When I first did this a few days ago things worked the playlist imported, the correct number of tracks displayed, Playlist_name (#) , and when I clicked on the playlist all the songs where there. I have tried doing this in the Admin and in the specific accounts all produce the same result. Not sure what to do other than recreating the playlist in subsonic. I have created test playlists in Subsonic and they seem to work fine.

Now I am on a mac, running Subsonic version 4.7. I'm not sure where the playlist files live on a mac Also. With the playlists, these are files exported out of itunes as m3u8 for imports into Subsonic.

Is there a "proper way" to import playlist from itunes?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
