Possible to show ARTIST tag instead of ALBUM ARTIST?

My tagging method puts the actual artist of a Various Artists album in the ARTIST tag, and the Various Artists tag in the ALBUM ARTIST tag. However, Subsonic is showing the ALBUM ARTIST tag when playing (meaning that instead of the name of the artist, it will show "Various Artists"), not the ARTIST tag. Any way of changing this in the configuration?

I have this exact same issue, and also came here hoping for a solution to this problem. Using "Various Artists" on Album Artist with the individual band names loaded under the "Artist" tag should be the correct way to tag compilations (iTunes handles this just fine). However when streaming from Subsonic, not only does this not show the correct artist name, it also prevents the song from being scrobbled to last.fm if you are using that service.

If anyone knows of a solution to this problem, I would love to hear it! Or, as the OP originally requested, it would be nice if there were a way to have it simply read the "Artist" tag instead of "Album Artist."
