Java update 7 - 15 broken

Postby Princess_Frosty » Mon Feb 25, 2013 9:51 am

I've been running subsonic 4.7 for months now just fine, always with the latest update of Java, today Java auto updated to 7.15 and the subsonic service will no longer start.

Is there any way to fix this without downgrading, I don't like running older versions of Java due to the recent security vulnerabilities. If we're forced to downgrade Java is there a known good last working version I should check out, and does anyone know if this version has known security flaws?

This is a bit of a mess to be honest, I'm not very impressed having paid for a licence and finding that java updates are breaking this :(

*edit*

This is windows 8 Pro x64 by the way, I've tried reinstalling 4.7 without luck. The error I get starting the subsonic service is:

"Windows could not start the subsonic service on the local computer.
Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly."

It sounds like the Java install did not complete correctly.

Completely remove all installed java versions, restart, and then install just the latest version of 64 bit and 32 bit java.

Then try to restart the service.

The problem is not Subsonic, the problem is Java.

Yeah I'm getting this error since updating to 7.0.15:

No JVM could be found on your system. Please define EXE4J_JAVA_HOME to point to an installed 32-bit JDK or JRE or download JRE from www.java.com.

I'm running WHS (Windows Server 2003).

Thanks Glenn, that seems to have worked, it's running correctly now.
