3.7 Beta 1 Search is Not Usable

The default search for the tool bar at the top should be to search for all the options (title, album, artist). Right now, it seems to only search title - and is only looking for an exact match.

Examples:
Search for "St Vincent", gets nothing, but if I search for "St. Vincent" (with the period) it returns the result.

Search for "She and Him" gets nothing, but "She & him" returns the album (but only if it is in the artist field. Typing either into the default search form element returns nothing (because it seems to only look in title). Also, "she him" (in any field) returns nothing - shouldn't that return something - shouldn't that be an "and" search for the words unless its in quotes or something.


Maybe you could add an advanced search link below the search box for the "title/Album/Artist/newer than" searches, and the main search box search all the fields with partial matches. It is infuriating to search for stuff that I know exists and get no results. The old search (in 3.6) worked great for this type of thing.

this has been discussed a bunch and is going to be changed when 3.7 comes out.

I don't think anyone's discussed the period issue.
