I have my music area up and running perfectly with Subclient and by far the easiest solution has been subsonic. I just paid for a year of premium to get the extra perks including video streaming.
My internet specs are 120Mbits down 20Mbits up
I am an IT graduate but new to DLNA and media streaming so this is a bit complex for me understanding transcoding. I am using the default settings for transcoding, most of my files are mp4 or mkv. When I do select a movie to stream in Subclient I get a black box and nothing happening. I RDP into my server I have running at home and the CPU is nearly maxing so I assume transcoding is happening but no matter how long I want nothing seems transmitted.
My server box is running windows 7, dul core 3,6ghz i5, 6gb ddr3, standard onboard graphics from intel chip.
Does anyone here have command lines that I can try? I attempted replacing flv with mp4 and then restarting subsonic but nothing changed cpu usage was a tiny different. Now I haven't tested streaming from LAN.
