Media folders -> shared network?

A lot of my media is stored on my WDTV Live Hub. Since it's a NAS server, I can easily view the contents on my computer as well. But I noticed subsonic won't let me simply add the shared drive as a media folder. I'm not surprised but I'd like to know if and how I can set up access.

I think I found some instructions, but for Windows users...I have a Mac (running OS 10.8.4). I just want to stream my movies, etc. while I'm away from home. Any advice? Thanks!
