Subsonic Fails to play vbr

About half my library isn't playing since i upgraded to the 4.8 tomcat6 installation. In the now playing list the files always say "***kbs vbr" at the end (as opposed to files that just display the bitrate and play fine). Tried it on multiple computers with multiple browsers as well as DSub. I would like to fix this and really don't want to go back to jetty and lose my ssl. I am using Ubuntu 12.04 server.

Give the transcoder in my signature a try, it converts mp3 to mp3 which stops the vbr

Tried it but it caused all of my library to not be playable. I put the line in as step 1 and set both convert to and convert from as mp3.

The rest of my transcode lines are the default ones.
