16:9 video aspect ratios

Postby rOOb85 » Tue Oct 08, 2013 10:44 pm

Hello all. I'm using subsonic 4.8 (build 3434) – April 17, 2013 on freebsd and everything for the most part is working awesome! One issue I'm running into is when I stream videos. It seems that if the source video is 16:9 subsonic(or most likely ffmpeg) is changing the aspect ratio to 4:3 which gives the video a "squished" look to it. I'm not sure what I can do to have subsonic(or ffmpeg) keep the videos original aspect ratio while streaming. If anyone has any solutions or suggestions I'd love to hear them!

Right click on the player bar and change the settings.

Wow. I feel dumb now. I just assumed that the transcoded video was the wrong aspect ratio. Playing around with the stretching option seems to work for me. Thanks! :D
