Can't clean the ID tag cache

Postby f00dl3 » Thu Jan 02, 2014 8:56 pm

New to Subsonic. Got to say I really love it! Awesome as it's the only program that actually works for my music collection - Jinzora doesn't even detect over 650 songs and since I have all my songs classified by genre, Plex says all my songs are by Unknown Artist.

Now, I do have a strange problem. I'm using the latest Subsonic 4.9.beta3 (build 3772) – December 14, 2013 - on Ubuntu 13.10. I imported alot of music but have since used EasyTag to strip / re-tag all the files using Artist-Title format. For some reason, although the stripping track numbers and album name worked in EasyTag, Subsonic is still showing the old ID tag information. I have attempted to refresh the database, clean the subsonic cache, and even remove/delete the media folders and completely rebuild them. Oddly enough, when doing this, it almost acts as if I never deleted them in the first place as after cleaning the database cache it still reads in my MP3s/OGGs at ~1000/sec.

Ok - I figured out a "workaround" to the problem. I moved everything in /home/subsonic/Music to my own home folder, removed it from Subsonic, rebooted, moved it back to the Subsonic user folder, chown'd it back to Subsonic, and re-added it to Subsonic. It is now working.

Shouldn't be that complicated.
