File Scan freezes

I have just started using Subsonic -4.9.beta4 (build 3810)- I have tried to scan my library several times and the scan process freezes at the same file number each time, which then locks out some functions of Subsonic including the ability to access from my phone. I can restart my PC and it works great- except for for some folders which show empty. Is there a way to find out which file is causing the scan process to freeze- or is there another solution to this issue I'm having. i have since disabled the scan schedule, I am able to see and use about 80% of my library.
I would appreciate any help on this.
