[Fixed] Must repeatedly re-enter premium license

Postby srr » Fri Jul 11, 2014 10:30 am

Hi all,
Thanks in advance for your help!

<-------------------------Subsonic Help Request---------------------->
Problem Description: I have a premium license that I got in 2012. After having upgraded Subsonic to version 4.9, the application no longer regarded itself as "premium". If I enter the license key, it will unlock the premium version, but only until my machine is rebooted. I have to enter the license key once per reboot now. I did find the thread where someone else had a similar problem and it was K9 Web Protection, but I added subsonic.org to the whitelist like he/she did, yet the problem was not solved.
Troubleshooting Steps: Resinstalled Subsonic, upgraded to new beta version 5.0 beta 1
Playback Application and version: Subsonic, version 5.0 beta 1, although the problem began when I got version 4.9

Perhaps your subscription has expired?

Hi GJ51,
I don't think it expired because I donated back in June 2012, during version 4.6/4.7 beta. Anything before 4.8 is supposed to be valid forever. In addition, Subsonic regards itself as premium until I reboot the machine.

Sounds like you must have something botsed in the C:\Subsonic directory.

I'd probably do a backup of the Subsonic directory and then do a clean install to see if that fixes it. Most abnormal behaviors are due to corruptions in the data directory.

Hi,
Uninstalling K9 Web Protection fixed this issue. Whitelisting the Subsonic domain was not enough, apparently.
