Subsonic consuming too much data

Postby djstorm1987 » Wed Dec 03, 2014 7:44 am

Hey everyone

I`ve noticed that subsonic uses a lot of my 4g mobile data plan. I have only tested it out and noticed that I already used about 2 gigs. How would you guys handle this?

TMobile. 1)Unlimited data available, and 2) free music streaming (non-subsonic) by all the major music services, and I sub to both Rhapsody and Google Music..if I had a regular plan, they would not count against my data bucket. The $30/100 minute/5GB monthly prepaid plan is a cheap way to see if you can enjoy those services AND some subsonic and stay under the magic 5GB bucket limit. 8)

Thanks I have a AT&T family share plan that has a limit of 15gb which is more than sufficient but now with streaming it seems to be taking up more data. Is your solution for me to switch to T-Mobile unlimited data? In the mean time are there any settings that I can play around with in hopes of consuming less data?

I'd suggest, but reluctantly, to downsample. I don't do it, personally...it defeats part of my enjoyment. 8)

In Subsonic App (and variants) Settings-Network-Max Bitrate Mobile.

Thanks I`m assuming that 192 KBPS is doable right?
