Folder Not Found when adding a network drive

Postby chuck217 » Tue Feb 10, 2015 3:31 am

I have reinstalled the latest version of Subsonic on a new computer, and am trying to add my music folder, which exists on a network share (Z:\music) When trying to add, I get a message that says "Folder Not Found" I have added other test folders, and if it exists on the local machine it's fine, but anything on a network share does not work. How can I correct this?

Hi,

This is probably because your network drive is mapped using your identity and not the one used to run Subsonic. Under Windows, mapping a network drive doesn't mean you can access it under another user. To fix this problem, you could try to use the network path, e.g. \\THECOMPUTERNAME\ShareName. If this doesn't work, there is still the command "mklink" available under Windows, which allows you to make symbolic links, like under Linux. With this method, you can fake a local path and point a folder to a network location without the system knowing it.

Hope it helps!
