Can't even get to initial setup on Mac OS X.

Hoping I'm just doing something really stupid since that is usually easily fixed. I really really want this to work. MyTunesRSS just doesn't cut it for me and Air Playit doesn't seem to be supported anymore.

Problem Description:
Installed latest Mac client v5.2.1 into /Applications on OS X 10.10.2. It opens (menu bar icon appears) but when clicking/dragging to Open Subsonic Web Page the following appears in a new window on any browser I have tried: HTTP ERROR: 503 SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE RequestURI=/ Powered by jetty://
Troubleshooting Steps:
clean install of app and all related files folders
    fix permissions (all read/write)
delete app only and reinstall it
    verify permissions of everything
    tried updated version
Playback Application and version: Ha! Haven't had the chance.
Subsonic Version: v4.9 (v4.9 is what is current on macupdate.com - have since tried with v5.2.1)
Server Version: haven't gotten there yet
Hardware Platform:
    Mac OS X 10.10.2 - Yosemite
    2.2 GHz 15" MacBook Pro ("early 2011") / 16 GB RAM
Java Memory Limit: Hmmm, might be a good question. How to find on Mac?
Problem Filename: NA
Output from ffmpeg -i: -bash: ffmpeg: command not found
Last ten log file lines: nada
