Subsonic, Jukebox and Pulseaudio

Postby NebuK » Mon Feb 15, 2016 1:05 pm

Hi everyone,

i’m successfully running a SubSonic 5.3 instance on my Debian box with Tomcat/8.0.14, Java 1.8.0_72 (OpenJDK) and Pulseaudio 5.0-13. I’m now trying to get Jukebox mode to work, in addition to the websever. For this, i’ve configured pulseaudio to have one default sink which broadcasts via RTP to my LAN via multicasting. This works very well, for example for mpv/mplayer. Now, when using jukebox, i can get playback to work out of the box. When adding a whole album, the tracks are played nicely without any problems.

The problems start when i’m trying to pause/resume playback, skip a track, clear the players list, add a new track, do anything useful besides linear playback. Then — without anything in tomcat logs or subsonic.log — playback stops, and all player-related buttons in the web-ui are non-functional anymore. Browsing Subsonic still works, but no playback-ish action, not even the web-player, will work until i restart Tomcat itself.

Does anyone have a hint for me on where to start digging further to debug this? I’ve also found no hint as how to make the log more verbose …

Best & Thanks,
NebuK

Just a quick bump: Using Oracle-JDK-java in Version 1.8.0_73, it simply works … and is now a rather nice setup!
