uninstalled and reverted but now performance is terrible

Wow... Really hating the new and improved experience.
The New UI was reprehensible. I uninstalled and installed 5.3.
Now I get file not found or access denied on all WMVs (not my main files so a small annoyance)
Load time is really long, half the time the files stutter -- on my LOCAL MACHINE The rest have the video blank out to either green or black.

This is not what I paid for.

I want the previous version and the previous smooth functionality. What is needed to be done for this?
