DLNA artwork quality and DLNA rendering

Postby Peterbx1 » Tue May 24, 2016 4:03 pm

Hello Gentlemen,

and greetings from Germany. I am currently making up my mind about which media server to use and I like Subsonic very much, it has MANY advantages of Twonky, but there are two points I am currently struggling with. I have spent too days for finding a solution and here are my open issues:

When accessing audio files with embedded artwork via DLNA support of Subsonic, the artwork quality is (I think this is DNLA standard) very low and looks really bad on larger displays. Is there a way to change the quality of the images transferred? When I access my Twonky server, the images quality displayed in the same streaming client, Bubble UPnP, is MUCH better.

Well, I did realize that there are many nice Subsonic clients available, and the image quality displayed by them is much better, but I could not find one offerering these two features:

Playing music on one of the many UPnP WIFI streaming boxes in my home AND being able to download music to the mobile I am running a subsonic client on.

Please let me know if anybody knows a way to make this possisble with Subsonic, as it is with Twonky and Bubble UPnP and I will go for a lifetime subscription right away :D

Cheers

Peter
