music does not play!

It happened some time ago already, but I did not get to report it now (maybe I was just listening to 8tracks instead
When I click the play button the music simply does not play! The triangle changes to II but time sits at 0:00 and the progress bar does not move! WTH is that? It happens on various pcs and web browsers. There is nothing in the subsonic logfiles on my server unfortunately. Anybody noticed that and knows what do do with it? It worked before

OK so do I get it right that because this is freeware then there is no support?

Hi,
There's no official support. Just volunteers who drop by when and if they have time.
It would help if you gave a little bit more information like:
On what OS is your Subsonic server running?
What version of Subsonic are you using?
Did you try simple things like restarting your server?
Did you update / reinstall the Java version on your server?
Did you delete all players that are registered in your Subsonicserver?
Is your default player the Webplayer?
Is your Subsonicserver in Jukebox-mode?
Did you try rescanning music-folders and cleaning up the database?
Did you try deleting the existing database and rebuilding it like in this posting: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16936 ?

Well thanks for finally advising me something! I have no idea about more then half of those actions you described so now that I am informed I can try that. Server was rebooted many times of course, becuase I have that problem a long time already. It is Windows 2012 server.

I'm sorry. I can imagine how it is to feel that you're on your own.
Since youre running server 2012 do you run the subsonic service under the administrator account?
Did you check my other tips on solving the problem?

Just came to my mind:
Did you try and disable Windows firewall? Won't be the first time that that's the problem.

Well. FIrst I was hesitant to install Java because there is some stupid Teoma Search toolbar whatever app which can't be excluded from install! Somebody explain me how the f*ck can Oracle get away with this? But then I did it anyway. And it seems now suddenly it started playing again! Wonderful. Thank you.
And the service runs as default - local system account

When I have to install or update Java I use the offline installer which does not contain crapware.
