Scan not picking up 24 bit files

Postby narkotic » Wed Apr 13, 2016 3:29 pm

Hi,

Problem Description: I've been collecting 24 bit audio files (FLAC) and most (not all) do not show up after a scan.
Troubleshooting Steps: Cleaned out library and started from anew. No luck. Tried comparing metadata to files that do import, no obvious differences.
Playback Application and version: Irrelevant, as this is a server issue.
Subsonic Version:6.0.beta1 (build 4676) – February 5, 2016
Server Version: 6.0.beta1 (build 4676) – February 5, 2016
Hardware Platform: Windows Server 2012
Java Memory Limit: 150mb

Last ten log file lines: (The last ten or so lines copied and pasted from the About screen in the Subsonic Web Interface. Ideally these will be in a CODE block as well.)

Disregard. I completely wiped out the DB and started from scratch, it's now picking them up!

Resurrecting this thread.

The issue has reappeared. It seems the only way to fix this intermittent issue is to completely wipe the DB And have it recreate it.

Can someone help point me in the right direction to debug this problem and then present it to development for review?

It only seems to be triggered by higher bit-rate files, i.e. 24bit. I can scan for new media, and 16 bit files will be added to the DB, but 24bit files are not added at all.

I should also mention I am running 6.0 (build 830afc) – April 30, 2016

Seems very obvious, but did you check the acces rights to the files that are not scanned / added to the library?
I found that most of these problems are a result of insufficient rights of the subsonic-service to acces the files.
Do you run the subsonic service on a local account or on an administrator account with full acces to all your media folders?
Subsonic needs the subsonic-service to run on an account with full acces to all media folders.

If that were the case, why would it pick them up if I rebuild the library? I'm hoping there is someone that can read the logs better than I can to see if there is anything obvious... but I appreciate the response :)
