Missing Artwork

Postby phred » Tue Dec 06, 2016 2:26 am

I've been using SubSonic for about five years and experienced this problem only once and it was about four years ago. Unfortunately I don't remember how it got resolved.

My SubSonic 6.0 server lives on a Win7 machine and I usually connect to it via Firefox. Sometimes I connect via the SubSonic Android app.

At some point over this past weekend, just about all my cover art went missing. And many of my playlists are appearing twice. Both of these issues are showing in Firefox and in the Android app. The Android app has been deleted and reinstalled. I have cleared the cache from the device and from Firefox. I tested the web interface with IE and the same issue exists. All of which points me to a SubSonic issue. I should add that since the missing artwork issue four years ago, SubSonic has been working fine - no missing artwork and no duplicate playlists.

I have followed the instructions to fix a damaged database found in this thread: http://forum.subsonic.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=15693&p=67805&hilit=http%3A%2F%2Fyoursubsonicinstall%2Fdb.view#p67805. I have previously used that fix for other minor issues and it's never let me down. Until now. I have run it three times, followed by cleaning up the db (run from the media folders tab under settings. And then I have re-scanned the library.

So far the database fix has not restored all of my album artwork. Nor have the duplicate playlists disappeared. For the record, all of the music tracks have the album art embedded within the mp3 file -and- a jpg or png exists in each album's directory. My playlists are PLS. There are 82 playlists and 42 are now appearing twice. (As an aside, in v5.x there was a way to delete playlists, but I can't seem to find that with v6.)

Any help, guidance, or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Despite running the 'how to fix database' three or four more times, there has been no change. So I downgraded to v5.3 and all was fine. All artwork was showing and there were no duplicate playlists. I thought that was rather odd since I had been running v6 since May with no issues.

I then reinstalled v6 and amazingly, all is as it should be. All artwork shows and there are no dupe playlists. Both on the web interface and on the Android app.
