Songs stop randomly and player just sits there indefinitely

I've been using Subsonic for years now and I do love it, but maybe within the past few months I'm having a recurring issue of random songs just stopping when shuffling my collection. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. A song will play for a minute or two, then just stop...it will sit there indefinitely (for hours sometimes) until I skip to the next track and it will start playing the next song in the queue. When the track is stopped, I can move the player forward or backwards with no effect whatsoever, only choice I have is to skip to the next track. I'm listening remotely using the standard web interface in Firefox. Anyone got any ideas? It seems like it's been happening more and more lately and it's starting to get kind of annoying. Nothing has changed with my server/connection/library.

Just one silly remark:
Did you try to clear the browsercache and delete the temprary internet files in FF?
I found that often any issue with Subsonic playback is resolved by just clearing the cache.
