Can´t subscribe podcast

Postby kernel-error » Tue Jan 24, 2017 11:39 am

I tried so subscribe some podcast. Some didn't work and I don´t know why :-(

For Example: https://logbuch-netzpolitik.de/

Feed: http://logbuch-netzpolitik.de/feed/m4a (kind of redirect to: https://feeds.metaebene.me/lnp/m4a)...

I only get: "0 episodes – Error peer not authenticated" and this logentry:
/var/subsonic/subsonic.log:
[24.01.17 12:24:54 MEZ] WARN PodcastService Failed to get/parse RSS file for Podcast channel https://feeds.metaebene.me/lnp/m4a
[24.01.17 12:35:02 MEZ] WARN PodcastService Failed to get/parse RSS file for Podcast channel http://logbuch-netzpolitik.de/feed/m4a

The feed works on all other clients :-(

And there is no certificate issue with java:
# java SSLPoke feeds.metaebene.me 443
Successfully connected

What can I do?

Unfortunately not. It is not a simple java connection problem. This was also my first suspicion.

My Java version is:
# java -version
java version "1.8.0_121"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_121-b13)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.121-b13, mixed mode)

Did you read:

Same issue for me with the feed at http://feeds.feedburner.com/mitternacht ... format=xml (tried Java versions 7 and 8)

Looking at the feed mentioned in the OP along with the above, it seems like they both link to HTTPS sites that require SNI, maybe that's it? According to https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HTTPCLIENT-1119 this was added to the Apache HttpClient in version 4.3.2, but if I peek inside the subsonic.war file I can see httpclient-4.2.4. Is there any chance of upgrading this so it'll support SNI?

Perhaps the issue isn't your Java version but the version of subsonic\WEB-INF\lib\httpclient-4.2.4.jar.

Hello,
I'm getting the same error on all podcasts from https://metaebene.me/podcasts/.
Just for "fun" replaced httpclient-4.2.4.jar and httpcore-4.2.4.jar inside the subsonic.war with newer versions ( tried a few) but ultimately this only left me with a new error:
"javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path validation failed: java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: timestamp check failed"
The cert is valid by the way (till 17.03.2107), issued by letsencrypt.
