call an mp3 segment only

is there a way to use the api to call X amount of seconds of a track ? like generating a preview of the track ?

don't think so. maybe playing with the http 'range:' headers you might get the server to restrict things, at least to skip the start and go straight to a middle part of a track, but no promises.
