Postby RemkoM » Sat Sep 09, 2017 9:09 pm

hi, just installed a fresh Debian 9 Stretch but now i find out openjdk-7-jre is not available for it. what would be my options here? can i just download openjdk-8-jre?
Maybe an update of the install instructions for debian would be needed aswell :)

Yes, please update the install instructions. I've fresh installed Ubuntu 16.04 server and openjdk-8-jre (openjdk-7-jre is not listed in the repository) and subsonic6.1.1. Tried it out to see if the updated Java would break anything. I'm not sure if it's related but my media files will seem to index but my library remains empty. Next tried removing subsonic and installing Java 7 (https://www.howtodojo.com/2017/07/insta ... ntu-16-04/). I am still having the same issue with the empty library.

The empty library issue may not be Java related... I've seen a couple other posts about it elsewhere.

Anyway, please update install instructions for Debian/Ubuntu regarding openjdk-7-jre which is no longer available in the default repositories.
