Auto Port Forwarding Timeout after 4-8 hours

Postby ck100 » Mon Oct 30, 2017 5:36 pm

Hi,

I have an issue where my auto port forwarding times out after a number of hours, therefore not able to make connection to subsonic outside of internal wi-fi.

As soon as stop and restart the service, the connection is restored, but again times out later.

I am connected to an Xfinity wifi modem but I'm not sure what I need to do to resolve.

Thanks,

Joe

I'm having the same problem. I want to listen to music at work, but my once my session times out, I have no way of logging back in, because I can only do it on my home network. This defeats the entire reason I signed up for this service (to be able to listen to my music anywhere). I posted about this previously and no one addressed it. Moderators?

Hi,
Don't use Subsonic's UPnP port forwarding for 2 obvious reasons:
1. It's not safe to activate UPnP in your router
2. It is not reliable.
Make sure your subsonic server has a fixed Ip-adress within the range of your home network either by fixing it in the server networksettings or by a reservation in your DHCP-server.
Next set up manually a portforwarding in your router to your Subsonic server.
If you' don't know how to do this:
