Connection drops on client machine

Hi, I have setup and installed Subsonic on my mac mini at home, configured dynamic DNS to access it externally, until I sort a secure certificate I'm running this on port 4040 and everything loads as it should from wherever I check - great!

I have one very strange problem using the web player on my laptop at work and at home though (on my internal network or using a vpn so effetively outside) - every time I play a selection of songs my laptop loses connection, for example, Slack, Skype, One Drive + Outlook all lose connection until I stop playing and browsers would struggle to load anything.

I use the Android app on my phone and love the download feature and that works perfectly with no issues so far.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated, the only thing I can think is that it's downloading far ahead and sapping the whole connection on my machine but that's a bit weird as the files are so small and my work and home connections are ~80Mb/s+ - it seems that wouldn't make sense. Any other ideas or potential fixes?
