Cannot access Subsonic via remote computer

For some reason I have entirely lost my ability to log on to my Subsonic account over the Internet at a remote computer using my usual URL (myname.subsonic.org), although I can log on just fine using that same URL via my home computer (i.e., I get to the page where prompting you to input your user ID and password). I can no longer access Subsonic on my iPhone through the Soundwaves app either.

When I use my usual URL remotely, I get this message: "This site can’t be reached. 108.XX.XX.XX took too long to respond."

I would be eternally grateful if anyone could explain what I am doing wrong or how to fix this. Thanks in advance.

It's probably a routing problem at your Router.
Most Router are using DHCP for the Client PC's because a couple of reasons DHCP will change the IP of your PC where Subsonic Server is running.
You have to forward the port 4040 (or another you probably have chosed) to the subsonic server.
Forwarding the ports in your router can be done in several ways, one is to forward the port to the Computer Name if your router will give you that option, the other option is to route the port to the internal IP 192.xxx.xxx.xxx but that will cause the failure if DHCP will give the Subsonic Server a new IP.
So, if you have a cheap router with out the option to route to the Computer Name you should use a static IP.

There is also an option for UPNP, maybe you have deactivated OR it doesn't work (my case)

Another way may be helpful, try your.adress:4040 this is the way i'm using it, because I have several several services with different Ports.

I'm having what sounds like the exact same issue - and have in the past on occasion. I'm sure I've tried everything again, but still failing to connect when was working before and can't think anything has changed, other than maybe the local IP address. Just in case I've added the new IP to the portforward option in the router. And again, it works fine using the external named x.subsonic.org address in the browser on my local PC (where the music/server sits) but not via mobile/ipod. Have also checked Windows firewall settings, but subsonic appears to be allowed through this too.

Any other tips/ideas?

Thanks to 3Dscrewer's helpful reply, I am back in Subsonic business both via remote computers and the Soundwaves app on my iPhone. Much appreciated as my mental health and well-being are greatly benefited by having access to my music where and when I want it!
