Move install in Ubuntu to a new machine

Postby urville » Mon May 28, 2018 10:35 pm

Background: I had subsonic on Mint. Moved it to Ubuntu. never could get the playlists as they were not where they were "supposed" to be? Anyway I got is moved to my Ubuntu 16.04 server and rebuilt my playlists.

I am moving it again since the machine died (used server) over to 18 and I came here and followed a very old thread on moving subsonic and its not working.

Logins didnt come over, playlists missing, basically all the settings save only the premium status until next year is missing.

I dont understand what I am doing wrong unless its just the case of the old thread being too old? It's the only thread on this subject I could find and unlike my plex install, there dont seem to be official instructions for moving an install to a new machine without losing anything.

I would very greatly appreciate help in finding a comprehensive set of steps to successfully/seamlessly move my install to my new machine.

Nobody? I dont get it... There is a playlists folder, and I copied it over and everything else, just as I found in that older forum post, and nothing.

I had a bunch of playlists. Where the heck are they?
