New user just installed

Postby Xecty » Mon Aug 20, 2018 9:06 pm

AMD 12 core threadripper 128g ram asrock x399 fata1itly MB win 10 64 Pro.

As soon as I installed subsonic my mouse struggled to move my musicbee player went gobbilygook. Haven't even set up the program and it went straight to using 100% of my cpu. When I killed the server my computer works normal again. Can anybody help? Would like to try but not if I can't use my machince for anything else.

after looking at my resource monitor it's using 5% then spikes to 60%. If I run anything else it spikes 80% and above. Subsonic says it's using 58mb ram but computer says it's using 105mb ram.

The spikes of usage to my cpu makes this server unusable for me.

Sounds like you install might not have been happy, have you tried uninstalling, clearing everything out, and then a re-install ?

Either something has gone really wrong when you were installing Subsonic or you have a serious problem with another application(s).
I've been using Subsonic-server for a couple of years now on different machines which were all very less powerfull than your machine, according to the specs you gave.
Subsonic never slowed one of the machines down.
I'm now running Subsonic on a pc with an Intel I3 cpu and 16 GB ram. My mediacollection is 1,5 TB music files.
This pc is also a Hyper-V host with 3 virtual machines running. Each of these VM's is running an internetbroadcasting program 24/7.
Everything runs with no problems and no freezes or halting or interruptions.
So I suggest that you first have a look at what's installed and running on your pc. Perhaps even a thorough Virus scan?
Because there's no way that Subsonic is stressing your machine to the extend you described if it is installed properly.
