Can't Transcode with iPhone apps

I think I've figured out transcoding settings, because they work for "players" in the web interface.

But transcoding isn't being triggered for iPhone app "players". Neither play:Sub, nor AVSub "players" will transcode even though I turn it on in server settings for those players.

Can anyone help? Thank you.
