Not seeing anything in Home Screen

Hello all. I'm running subsonic in a Windows 10 virtual machine on ESXi 6. Version installed is 6.1.5 (build 759abe) – December 1, 2018

If I go to the index page, I see the songs I uploaded and I'm able to play them from the web login if I connect remotely to the server, IF i do this connected to the WEB GUI from the actual server I don't get playback for the songs. That's problem number one.

Problem number two is that I can't get any indexed song to show in the home screen.

The installation seems to have run OK. What can I look for? I don't think this is a common Issue as there are no recent posts for this problem and the only one I've found so far is from 2010.

Did you make sure that the admin account has acces to all your mediafolders?
( Settings >> Users >> Admin >> Allow access to these media folders checked. )

As to the playback problem:
You say you're running Subsonic in a VM.
So you don't have a soundcard.
Could that be the problem?
