Moved ser to new machine now unable to access

I originally intalled subsonic on my desktop running W10, in order to try it. It worked fine and was accessible from web browsers.
Today I did the following:
I moved the Subsonic server (i.e. installed a new one) on my media server. I was unable to access my account at ~~~.subsonic.org. I thought this might be due to having two servers with the same login details. I uninstalled the desktop version, but was still unable to log in to the new server. I looked at the settings which seemed to require a change in oder to allow the use of the account (as above). I selected this and saved, but no joy.
When trying to use apps I got an error that the app was activiely refused access.

It occured to me that I may need to set up a new account for this server, but it seems I am unable to do this.
At this point there are too many things going on for me to systematically deal with them.
I wonder if anyone could point me in the right direction.
