They are probably struggling to connect to the internet

I have raised another help topic requesting assistance but remember this is a user forum so you take your chances :|

i was having the same issues and figured out how to fix it!

open the folder
/Library/Application Support/
find the Subsonic folder and rename it Subsonic_old

reinstall Subsonic.
launch Subsonic.
exit Subsonic.

copy the contents of
/Library/Application Support/Subsonic_old/db
to
/Library/Application Support/Subsonic/db

copy the file 'subsonic.properties' from
/Library/Application Support/Subsonic_old/
to
/Library/Application Support/Subsonic/

launch Subsonic!

that seems to do the trick. :)

I am a MAC USER oh noes!
HERE IS YOUR FIX dude.
im on a mac 10.5+

CLOSE SS!

First when you install SS it does make a folder in the app support, if you dont see it your looking at the wrong app support (idk why they make it hard)
should be HDD>Library>App Support>SubSonic

NOT IN YOUR USER ACCOUNT LIBRARY!!!!!!!

then right click on that subsonic folder in your app support and "get INFO"
in sharing and permissions (might need pass to edit/click on lock to unlock) section make SYSTEM, Admin, Everyone all read&write
THEN click the gear and APPLY TO ENCLOSED ITEMS
(click lock if u entered a pass)close window and launch SS

***IF you really dont have the ss folder you can make it and do the steps above, it will be filled with all the new files that the above steps allow it to do. This fix allows you to access the webpage perfectly. Happy Castin

Hey ! I have been looking EVERYWHERE for solutions to the same problem !! So irritating when you can't find proper help. Anyways, I have finally figured it out -- and its pretty simple ! All you need to do is set your permissions to the LIBRAIRIES foler to READ AND WRITE, and APPLICATIONS SUPPORT folder inside the latter to READ AND WRITE.

Voilà :)

hi. i know this is an old thread but i thought it might be useful to +1 alofoxx and filmfao's posts. i did a fresh install of subsonic 4.9 (build 3819) on a mac mini running 10.6.8 snow leopard. i couldn't get subsonic to boot fully. the control panel did come up with some error about a missing jetty folder. the problem turned out to be permissions. i did a get info on the /Library/Application Support/Subsonic folder and it system priviledges were set to read only. i changed it to read/write and reinstalled over the existing install and this time i got the jetty folder. now everything appears to be working fine. thanks!

p.s. do i get extra points for being an american who knows that the battle of hastings took place in 1066?
